Job summary

DOCS Dermatology Group is seeking a Medical Assistant to support clinical care and patient management. You will enter visit information into the EHR, assist physicians, and help prepare patients for exams.

Responsibilities include triage calls, determining patient needs, and handling routine procedures and in-office tasks. Travel may be required at some offices; strong team player with HIPAA knowledge is essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Prior experience in a medical office.
• Ability to learn related center tasks and assist management and physicians.
• Desire to provide high patient care and service.
• Knowledge of HIPAA required; ICD-10/CPT coding preferred.

Responsibilities

• Verify patient information and medical history at visit.
• Enter medical history and visit data into EHR.
• Escort patients to exam room and prep for physician visit.
• Assist physician during examinations and procedures.
• Telephone prescriptions to pharmacies and schedule procedures.
• Take photographs and perform in-office phlebotomy as needed.
• Change dressings, remove sutures, sterilize instruments.
• Log and package lab specimens for transport.
• Maintain supplies by inventorying and ordering.
• Complete phone triage and convey pathology/lab results to patients.
