Advocate Health is seeking an as-needed Medical Laboratory Assistant in Dermatology in Wisconsin. This part-time role offers 0 hours per week minimum 8-hour shift per month, with a schedule of Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM and no holidays or weekends at this time.

Primary duties include preparing microscopic slides, frozen tissue sections, staining, labeling, and filing specimens. The position requires a High School Diploma and about 1 year of clinical experience, with strong attention to

• High school graduate required.
• Typically 1 year of clinical care experience.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and human anatomy.
• Ability to work in a high-stress environment with high attention to detail.
• Strong written and oral communication with physicians, staff, and patients.

Responsabilidades

• Prepares microscopic slides for evaluation by the physician.
• Prepares frozen tissue sections per physician orders.
• Slices tissue samples into thin sections for slides.
• Applies chemicals, stains and coverslip to samples per orders.
• Labels specimens and ensures proper testing readiness.
• Maintains filing system for tissue blocks and slides.
• Demonstrates age-appropriate patient care knowledge as described in department standards.
