Job summary

Forefront Dermatology is seeking a Medical Assistant to support dermatology clinicians, greet and room patients, and document intake. You will assist with in-office procedures, scribing, and e-prescribing workflow, while ensuring accurate lab work and specimen handling.

Requirements include a CMA and CDT potential, 1+ year medical office experience, and strong organizational and communication skills. Position may involve light travel between clinics and routine confidentiality compliance.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1+ years in a medical office preferred.
• Ability to obtain CDT designation within the established timeframe.
• Maintains all required state certifications, licenses, and/or registrations as a condition of employment.
• Willingness and ability to travel to other clinic locations as needed.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Strong organizational, computer, and verbal/written communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with supervisors, colleagues, patients, and the public.
• Demonstrated ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and function effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Effective time management skills with the ability to support operational efficiency.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information in accordance with applicable privacy regulations.

Responsibilities

• Greet and room patients, collect vital signs, patient history, and reason for visit.
• Review medication list and ensure preferred pharmacy for e-prescribing.
• Complete MIPS documentation requirements.
• Assist with scribing and documenting notes in the EMR.
• Set up procedural trays and maintain sterile fields during minor procedures.
• Prepare patients for dermatology procedures and biopsies under supervision.
• Perform suture removal and apply basic wound dressings.
• Draw blood and process specimens for testing.
• Assist clinicians during procedures by handing instruments and recording notes in EMR.
• Monitor patient comfort and provide reassurance during procedures.
