Job summary

Galen Medical Group in the Chattanooga region is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to support dermatology services. You will collaborate with providers, prepare patients for exams, and document visits in the EHR with accuracy and care.

You will assist with minor procedures, lab entries, and post-op instructions, while ensuring excellent patient service and HIPAA compliance in a fast-paced specialty setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; CMA certification from a nationally accredited program.
• Certified Medical Assistant with dermatology-specific training or coursework preferred.
• Experience with dermatology procedures and phlebotomy is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Assist provider with patient care and prep for examinations.
• Record medical history, vitals, and preliminary data; document in EHR.
• Prepare and stock exam/treatment rooms; sterilize instruments.
• Scribe during visits; assist with minor procedures and surgeries.
• Manage referrals, tests, and pre-certifications; triage calls per protocol.
• Provide patient education and post-operative instructions.
