Job summary

ODDITY is seeking an Associate Scientist in Cambridge, MA to be the hands-on anchor for dermatology assay workflows, executing and optimizing experiments that support target validation and translational substantiation. You will own day-to-day bench execution and mentor junior staff in a fast-moving, data-driven environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in biological sciences or related field; Master’s preferred.
  • 6+ years hands-on lab experience in cell/molecular biology; experience with mammalian cell culture.

Responsibilities

  • Execute and troubleshoot cell-based, biochemical, and phenotypic assays: ELISA, MSD, HTRF/TR-FRET, qPCR, reporter gene assays, viability/cytotoxicity, and flow cytometry.
  • Run in vitro safety packages including genotoxicity, phototoxicity, sensitization, and irritation screens under SOPs.
  • Support ex vivo human skin explant studies: tissue handling, sample prep, endpoint readouts, coordination with analytics.
  • Assist with IVPT / Franz diffusion experiments: chamber setup, sampling, permeation handling, LC/MS handoff logistics.
  • Maintain cell lines, reagents, and lab inventory; ensure QC and traceability.
  • Optimize existing protocols for throughput, reproducibility, and cost efficiency.
  • Draft and maintain SOPs, ELN entries, and raw data packages for internal/external handoff.
  • Perform basic data analysis and figure prep for updates.
  • Flag anomalies, propose troubleshooting paths, document deviations.
  • Support a collaborative, high-skill R&D environment and promote team culture.
  • Organize community-building activities.
  • Ensure a clean, safe lab with PPE compliance.
