Job summary

Mercor is seeking board-certified dermatologists for non-clinical AI development and evaluation. You will apply diagnostic expertise to image interpretation, annotation, and evaluation to define clinically sound dermatological assessments.

This role has no direct patient care or live diagnosis. You may be matched to multiple streams based on subspecialty and availability, with throughput targets varying by stream.

Qualifications

• MD or DO with completed dermatology residency.
• Board certification – ABD or equivalent, or board-eligible with residency completed.
• Active, unrestricted medical license in country of practice.
• 3+ years post-residency clinical dermatology experience.
• Ability to describe dermatological conditions in precise medical terminology across skin tones.
• Written and spoken English fluency.
• Minimum 15 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Case interpretation with written reasoning across dermatological images and patient history.
• Structured image annotation describing lesions per schema (morphology, colour, configuration, distribution, body site).
• Differential and severity assessment with ranked reasoning and progression grading from images.
• Output review—evaluate AI-generated dermatological assessments against standards and flag issues.
• Grading criteria and guideline authoring to ensure consistent judgments at scale.
• Difficult-case writing to probe model reasoning across skin tones.
