Job summary

WVU Medicine's Skin Cancer & Melanoma Center in Wheeling, WV is hiring an Advanced Practice Professional (APP) to provide dermatology care in an outpatient setting Monday through Friday. The APP coordinates with dermatology faculty, orders tests, conducts comprehensive evaluations, and educates staff and patients while ensuring compliance with state regulations.

Eligible applicants include ACNPs and FNPs with a master's level degree and National PA certification.

Qualifications

• Master level degree in medical sciences or MSPAS is required.
• Certification by the National Commission for the Certification of Physician Assistants is required.
• Must be licensed or eligible for licensure by the WV Board of Medicine.
• BLS certification required with advanced life support training at the department's discretion.

Responsibilities

• Performs comprehensive dermatology patient evaluations and coordinates care with dermatology faculty.
• Orders tests or consultations per guidelines and protocols.
• Documents plan of care, interventions and follow-up in the medical record.
• Communicates results to patients and hospital staff and facilitates discharge planning.
• Provides education to nursing staff, residents, students and patients.
• Collaborates with leaders to improve patient outcomes in dermatology.
