Job summary

UHA University Health Associates in Morgantown, WV seeks an Advanced Practice Professional to provide patient-centered dermatology care within a collaborative inter-disciplinary team. The APP coordinates care with dermatology faculty, directs plans of care, and performs diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.

The role includes educating residents and nursing students, ensuring safety and adherence to professional standards, and supporting discharge planning and follow-up.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a CCNE accredited nursing program with Master’s Degree in Nursing.
• National Certification by one of the recognized APRN Certification Centers.
• Licensure or eligibility for licensure as a professional Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in West Virginia.
• BLS Certification required with additional Advanced Life Support training at the department's discretion.
• Dermatology experience preferred.
• Eligible new graduates will be considered.
• ACNPs and FNPs considered.
• Masters level degree as Physician Assistant preferred.

Responsibilities

• Completes consults and/or emergent/evaluations.
• Orders additional tests or consults as deemed appropriate in collaboration with Dermatology faculty.
• Performs and communicates results of diagnostic tests following clinical guidelines.
• Communicates with clinical and hospital staff regarding abnormal findings.
• Documents the plan of care and disposition in the medical record.
• Coordinates discharge planning and follow-up appointments as applicable.
• Demonstrates expertise in caring for patients across the age continuum.
• Recognizes emergencies and initiates effective emergency care.
• Contributes to education of residents and medical/nursing students.
