Job summary

SMBC in Charlotte is seeking an experienced software developer to join the trading system development team. You will build and maintain applications supporting post-trade processing, payment calculations, and regulatory reporting.

The role requires strong C/C++ skills, OO design, and SQL, with a track record in financial services. Hybrid work is available; adaptability and collaboration are essential for success.

Qualifications

• 5-7+ years of experience in a large & complex application development environment involving complicated data schemas.
• Professional experience with C/C++.
• Proven experience in OOD/OOP.
• Strong SQL knowledge.
• Experience in application designs for complicated process flows.
• Experience in analyzing and designing complicated Data/Object Relations.
• Experience in source control tools and scheduling tools.
• Must be a good team player and can work cooperatively or independently.
• Quick learner and problem solver.
• 5 years in financial industry. Experience in Interest Rate Swap industry is a plus.

Responsibilities

• This role will be part of the trading system development team to enhance post trade processing functions such as trade payment calculation, payment processing and trade regulatory reporting.
• The role will be involved in projects to migrate legacy systems into new platforms, and as such, he or she has to be a hands-on developer, a quick learner, and also be adaptive to new technologies.
• The role will take responsibilities to lead the project/application design and to oversee project development.
• This role will take responsibilities of supporting the trading system, including providing answers to users’ enquiries or resolving batch job issues.
• The role will be part of the SMBC CM development team. He or she will need to follow SMBC CM development standards and contribute to the overall agenda of the team.
