Job summary

Xcel Energy is hiring a Project Manager at multiple levels to strengthen DER interconnection delivery. The role oversees consultant contracts, costs, capacity, and performance; coordinates study activities; communicates risks and deadlines; and escalates when needed to keep projects moving.

Successful candidates will bring strong project leadership, financial acumen, and experience guiding cross-functional teams in a hybrid work model with a focus on reliability and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years work experience in operations, technology, finance, or comparable function; utility experience preferred
• 3-5 years' experience in project management and process improvement; formal training preferred
• Demonstrated ability to lead and influence others
• Strong presentation and facilitation skills; excellent written/verbal communications
• Understanding of core business processes/ industry trends with ability to adapt to changes
• Knowledge of project planning and business need justification
• Ability to adapt to change quickly in a cross-functional team
• Vendor/contract management experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Project Planning: Identify options, develop business cases, and secure approvals.
• Project Management: Manage detailed plans to scope and schedule; track progress.
• Financial Management: Manage budgeting, forecasting, and actuals; support contracts.
• Resource Management: Schedule and manage internal and external resources; coach team.
• Scope & Risk Management: Manage scope changes; identify risks and mitigation.
• Relationship Management: Communicate status up to senior leaders; drive collaboration.
