Xcel Energy in Denver, CO is seeking an experienced Staff/ Senior Engineer to join the DER Integration team. The role focuses on evaluating requests to interconnect distributed generation, ensuring reliability and safety while coordinating with area engineers, planning, and protection teams.

The position emphasizes leadership across projects and technical excellence. The role supports a hybrid work model with onsite requirements and opportunities to contribute to interconnection milestones

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from ABET accredited curriculum; electrical engineering degree preferred or mechanical engineering with relevant experience.
• EIT/FE strongly preferred.
• Experience leading projects of moderate to large size.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate multiple projects or portions of projects, including design, procurement, installation and commissioning.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers and technicians.
• Develop technical documentation and support bid/evaluation processes.
