Job summary

Residency can be anywhere in the County or near the county line after probation. Minimum requirements include an Associate's degree or 2-year certificate in Law Enforcement, or equivalent; POST license eligibility; and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or 2-year certificate in Law Enforcement or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Peace Officers Standards and Training License or eligible upon hire.
• Valid Driver’s license.
• Lake County accepts applications three months before graduation.

Responsibilities

• Conduct law enforcement activities to ensure public safety.
• Respond to requests for assistance from the public.
• Investigate accidents and criminal incidents; prepare incident reports.
• Ensure security and order of the court; manage and preserve evidence; protect crime scenes.
