Job summary

The Northampton County Sheriff's Department is seeking capable deputies to provide courthouse and courtroom security, transport prisoners, and serve court orders and writs.

Both full-time and part-time positions are available. New deputies are paid a base salary of $29.14 per hour during training, with a comprehensive benefits package including pension, health, dental, vision, life insurance, and tuition reimbursement, plus ongoing career training.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Possess a high school diploma (or equivalent).
• Possess a valid driver's license with acceptable driving history.
• Submit a complete application with three references.
• Pass a written exam and a physical agility test.

Responsibilities

• Provide courthouse and courtroom security.
• Transport prisoners and execute court orders and writs.
• Attend extensive training and probationary requirements.
