Summary:

The Deputy Project Manager (DPM) will be responsible for leading project teams with a focus on the technical aspects to meet customer requirements supporting the US Coast Guard Product Support Service Desk.

May be eligible for telework part-time at the government's discretion.

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

  • Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the application help desk support.
  • Focus on scheduling personnel, staffing levels, and providing measurement criteria on various timeframes.
  • Ensure operations align with the Coast Guard's goals, analyze statistical data to optimize staffing and support desk systems.
  • Oversee the proper operation of on-site resources, including the Automatic Call Distribution system and statistical data management in the PSSD database.
  • Make continuous improvement recommendations to the Coast Guard regarding the support desk operations.
  • Perform other duties as needed.
Qualifications

Necessary Skills and Knowledge:

  • Strong knowledge of service desk operations, ITIL best practices, and technical support frameworks.
  • Ability to lead technical teams and deliver high-quality solutions.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Effective leadership and team-building abilities.
  • Strategic thinking and attention to detail.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree OR 10 years of call center management experience.
  • Prefer PMP, ITIL, HDI, or other relevant certifications.
  • Experience with Privileged User Management Program (PUMP), Windows, Networks, BMC Remedy, BMC Smart Reporting, and Oracle.
  • Minimum 7+ years experience with PBX systems, Automatic Call Distribution Systems, or other help desk support technologies.
  • Public Trust (Tier 2 Investigation)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of US Coast Guard operations, policies, or federal government processes is a plus.
