Job summary

Lynker is seeking a Deputy Program Manager & Supplemental Project Manager to support the National Weather Service's Office of Modeling and Development in College Park, MD. This hybrid role includes leadership responsibilities across scientific programming, numerical modeling, and contract management for NOAA's environmental modeling initiatives.

The ideal candidate will supervise multidisciplinary teams, manage budgets and schedules, and collaborate with federal stakeholders and Lynker

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher in a relevant field and at least 10 years of related experience.
• 3+ years of experience in project management, leading technical tasks, and cross-functional teams.
• Strong knowledge of geophysical sciences, numerical modeling, and data assimilation.
• Experience with UNIX environments and shell scripting.
• Familiarity with HPC platforms and Git/GitHub.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and project management for multiple supplemental projects and ensure objectives are met.
• Serve as Deputy Program Manager and act for the PM when needed.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams across research, development, and operational transitions.
• Monitor staffing, budget, scope, and schedule; prepare status updates for management.
