Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Deputy IT Lead for a nationally significant ACAT 1 systems development program utilizing SAFe and MBSE practices. You’ll oversee IT operations, including system and network administrators, and coordinate with PMO to guide design, data flow, and risk management across development and sustainment efforts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Computer Science, or a related field; 20+ years of relevant experience may substitute for a degree.
• Minimum of 12 years of IT-related experience, including at least 8 years in IT management.
• Experience leading IT teams of 20 or more personnel.
• Extensive experience leading and managing system administrators, network administrators, and other IT professionals.
• Extensive experience implementing and managing IT projects and services, preferably using Agile, Scrum, and related delivery methodologies.
• Experience supporting large-scale programs, including technology assessments, trade studies, analyses of alternatives, and capability roadmap development.
• Demonstrated collaboration across multiple internal teams and customer organizations on large programs.
• Experience delivering under constraints while meeting mission milestones and priorities.
• Experience presenting, briefing, and analyzing technical strategies with executive leadership.
• Experience in Agile development, SAFe, and related methodologies.
• Excellent planning, prioritizing, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support to the IT Lead, including mentoring IT staff.
• Ensure availability, reliability, security, and scalability of IT infrastructure.
• Coordinate and prioritize IT projects and initiatives to ensure timely delivery.
• Develop and oversee IT policies and standards for full compliance.
• Troubleshoot complex IT issues and escalate as needed.
• Promote innovation, collaboration, and customer-focused service within IT.
• Monitor emerging IT trends and evaluate applicability to the organization.
• Provide regular updates on IT team performance and operational challenges.
