Job summary

Fermilab is seeking a Deputy Installation Manager to join the Long-Baseline Neutrino Facility (LBNF) and Deep Underground Neutrino Experiment (DUNE) Project team. The role focuses on the Far Detector and Cryogenics subproject, with duties spanning project leadership, procurement, and collaboration with international partners.

The position is a three-year term with potential extension, requiring up to 30% travel domestically and internationally.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction or Engineering Management, Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or Business Administration plus 10+ years of relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of cost and schedule management, change control, procurement planning, and risk management.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and execute project management for the Far Detector, including setting objectives and leading staff.
  • Support procurement readiness, production readiness, and operational readiness review processes to ensure compliance.
  • Plan and manage Far Detector procurements, tracking packages through subcontract awards.
  • Draft agreements with universities and international partners and oversee detector production at sites.
  • Develop and manage cost and schedule estimates, monitor budgets, and align with project goals.
  • Facilitate change control planning and prepare documentation for review by the Change Control Board.
  • Contribute to Design Reports, Hazard Analyses, QA Plans, and Detector Installation Plans.
  • Support installation activities at the Far Site and engage with coordination and operations teams.
  • Assist with monthly reports and meetings, preparing presentations and written updates.
  • Lead or participate in subproject team meetings and risk management reviews.
