Job summary

Teck Alaska Incorporated, Red Dog Operations, is seeking a Deputy General Manager to lead the Operational Readiness and Supply Chain functions for the RD MLE project and Red Dog Mine.

Reporting to the General Manager, you will build and lead a multidisciplinary Operational Readiness team, establish a PMO, ensure safety and regulatory compliance, and drive continuous improvement and digital system implementations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level degree in a mining-related field or equivalent.
• 10+ years of experience in senior mining operations roles.
• Experience in project readiness and operational readiness programs.
• Commercial and financial understanding of base metals mining is required.
• Proven leadership, mentoring and team development abilities.
• Proven change agent with a track record in continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Operational Readiness for the RD MLE project and Red Dog operations.
• Establish and supervise a PMO for Operational Readiness and coordinate the readiness activities.
• Oversee safety, environmental compliance, budgets, schedules and contracts.
• Develop workforce plans, mobilize resources, and ensure recruitment and training.
• Foster collaboration between operations, project teams and external partners.
