Summary:

The Deputy General Counsel will play a crucial role as a senior member of the legal team at Goldbelt, Inc., reporting directly to the General Counsel. The Deputy General Counsel will provide legal advice and guidance to Goldbelt's operating subsidiaries engaged in federal government contracting and related commercial business. This position requires a seasoned legal professional with experience in contract law and regulatory compliance.

This is a remote position.

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

1. Provide expert legal guidance and strategic advice to the General Counsel, executive leadership team, and various business units on a broad range of legal matters, including contract law, regulatory compliance, litigation, employment law, and commercial transactions.
2. Draft legal opinions/memos, policies, resolutions, protests, claims, audit responses, and other documents.
3. Review and interpret statutes, regulations, proposed legislation, judicial decisions, and legal opinions that may impact the company.
4. Assist the General Counsel in ensuring that Goldbelt conducts its business operations in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and policies.
5. Assist in the development and implementation of corporate governance policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and best practices.
6. Support Goldbelt subsidiaries in managing regulatory compliance issues, as requested, and provide effective outside counsel management.
7. Prepare agreements and provide advice to senior executives and other personnel regarding contracts and agreements.
8. Analyze and summarize complicated legal documents, including contracts, and suggest alterations to those documents.
9. Represent Goldbelt before administrative or quasi-judicial agencies of government in lieu of the General Counsel.
10. Advise officials on government regulations, tax matters, and legal rights.
