Summary

The Deputy General Counsel will serve as a senior legal team member at Goldbelt, Inc., reporting directly to the General Counsel. This role involves providing legal advice to subsidiaries engaged in federal government contracting and commercial business, requiring expertise in contract law and regulatory compliance. This is a remote position.

Qualifications

• Experience with investigations and litigation

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of ANCSA corporations and Alaska Native cultures
• Experience with Alaska Native Corporations and government contracting
• Familiarity with 8(a) Program and small business contracting
• Employment law expertise
• Experience with bid protests and contract claims

Pay and Benefits

The salary ranges from $129,000 to $200,000 annually, complemented by a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, 401(k) with company match, paid time off, and professional development opportunities.

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

• Provide strategic legal guidance to leadership on a wide range of legal matters
• Draft legal opinions, policies, and other legal documents
• Interpret statutes, regulations, and legal decisions impacting the company
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations
• Develop and oversee corporate governance policies
• Support subsidiaries in regulatory compliance and manage external counsel
• Draft and review contracts and agreements
• Analyze legal documents and suggest modifications
• Represent the company before government agencies
• Advise on government regulations, taxes, and legal rights
• Manage litigation and develop risk mitigation strategies
• Build relationships with stakeholders and travel as needed
