Job summary

SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory seeks an experienced Deputy Electrical Safety Officer to lead and advance the Electrical Safety Program across lab facilities, systems, and research equipment. Reporting to the Electrical Safety Officer, this role provides technical leadership on compliance with NFPA 70, 70E, OSHA/Cal/OSHA, and DOE requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field with five years of relevant electrical safety experience.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience involving electrical systems, electrical safety, code compliance, inspections, operations, maintenance, or construction.
• Strong knowledge of NFPA 70, NFPA 70E, OSHA/Cal/OSHA regulations, and DOE electrical safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead implementation and continuous improvement of the Electrical Safety Program.
• Provide technical guidance on NFPA 70, NFPA 70E, OSHA, Cal/OSHA, DOE requirements.
• Act as backup to the Electrical Safety Officer and support succession planning for critical electrical safety functions.
• Conduct field assessments, inspections, and hazard analyses of electrical work activities.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
