Job summary

Coastal International Security, Inc. is seeking an Electrical Safety Officer (SME 1) at Los Alamos, NM.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree plus 7+ years electrical field experience or equivalent mix of education and experience.
• Deep knowledge of NFPA 70 and NFPA 70E is required.
• Experience in commercial, industrial, or DOE environments.
• Strong background in electrical inspections, hazard assessments, and code compliance.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary authority for electrical safety and administer the Electrical Safety Program.
• Support construction and field teams by ensuring proper electrical safe work practices.
• Conduct incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
• Perform field inspections to identify and mitigate electrical hazards.
• Lead reviews of Lockout, Tagout (LOTO) and Integrated Work Documents (IWDs).
• Develop and improve electrical safety procedures, policies, and standards.
• Provide technical guidance to engineers, planners, and field personnel.
• Ensure compliance with NFPA, OSHA, IEEE, and DOE standards.
• Evaluate systems and equipment for electrical safety compliance.
