Job summary

The Mayor’s Office of Worker Power (MOWP) seeks a Deputy Director/Senior Advisor to help run day-to-day operations and translate the Director’s vision into actionable plans. You will align the office’s priorities with DMEJ, coordinating staffing and follow-through across teams.

You’ll lead policy development, support worker campaigns, and build partnerships with unions, worker centers, and community organizations to strengthen workers’ rights and voices in City government.

Qualifications

  • Experience with organizing campaigns and worker-centric advocacy.
  • Strong knowledge of NYC and national labor movement dynamics.
  • Ability to translate strategy into executable work plans.
  • Proven credibility with workers, unions, and community partners.

Responsibilities

  • Shape strategy with the Director and DMEJ team to align with city priorities.
  • Support campaigns with unions and worker centers across industries.
  • Draft policy proposals and legislative language in collaboration with staff.
  • Coordinate with City agencies to implement worker power initiatives.
