Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership & Department Operations
  • Serve as the Director of Marketing's trusted second-in-command, providing direction and guidance to marketing staff on the Director's behalf, supporting departmental priorities, and ensuring leadership continuity in the Director's absence.
  • Design, implement, and manage a department-wide marketing project management system, including project intake, prioritization, assignments, timelines, resource allocation, status tracking, and reporting.
  • Coordinate day-to-day marketing execution across staff and vendors, providing direction on the Director's behalf, reviewing deliverables, and ensuring accountability for deadlines and quality standards.
  • Manage budget tracking, invoice processing, payment reconciliations, vendor records, and departmental procedures and documentation.
  • Maintain brand consistency and support the creative team through clear briefs, constructive feedback, and coordination of deliverables.
  • Identify opportunities to improve operations through automation, emerging tools, and more efficient processes.
Marketing Analytics & Digital Performance
  • Design, implement, and manage AUSA's marketing measurement framework, to establish KPIs, attribution standards, conversion tracking, and reporting processes across a multi-channel environment.
  • Personally configure and maintain marketing tracking infrastructure, including Google Analytics 4 (GA4), Google Tag Manager, UTM parameters, conversion events, and related tools.
  • Develop dashboards and reports that evaluate impressions, reach, clicks, leads, conversions, related costs, rates and ROI.
  • Use performance data, testing, and audience insights to recommend improvements to campaigns and marketing investments.
  • Lead marketing initiatives to improve website performance, landing pages, user experience, and conversions, coordinating technical implementation with web staff, IT, and vendors.
Integrated Campaigns & Audience Growth
  • Lead planning, execution, and optimization of integrated marketing campaigns across digital advertising (search, display, social) and traditional channels (print, outdoor, radio).
  • Develop targeted campaigns for B2C audiences (Soldiers, families, members, donors) and B2B audiences (industry partners, sponsors, exhibitors), including fundraising and donor engagement initiatives, to increase awareness, participation, and conversions.
  • Drive audience growth and engagement across AUSA initiatives, including membership, events, leadership development, educational resources, and Total Army and family program efforts.
  • Develop audience segmentation, lifecycle marketing, and automated email campaigns using platforms such as Pardot, PropFuel or comparable systems.
  • Develop content marketing strategies that leverage AUSA's expertise, stories, and resources to increase brand visibility, membership interest, and program participation.
  • Develop and refine compelling marketing copy and messaging across campaigns, events, email, and member communications.
  • Create and coordinate creative assets, video, multimedia, organic social media, web, and partner channels to expand audience reach and engagement.
  • Identify new promotional opportunities and use performance results to refine targeting, messaging, and campaign effectiveness.
Chapter Marketing & Community Growth
  • Lead marketing support for AUSA's 120+ chapters, strengthening local awareness, membership growth, volunteer engagement, and event participation.
  • Develop scalable resources, including Canva templates, marketing toolkits, campaign guides, promotional assets, and sponsorship packages.
  • Advise chapter leaders on membership, event marketing, volunteer recruitment, fundraising, and sponsorship development, including outreach strategies and materials to attract and retain local businesses and community partners.
  • Manage chapter marketing requests and fulfillment needs while establishing efficient, consistent support processes.
  • Identify and share successful marketing practices across chapters to strengthen community engagement nationwide.
Marketing Production & Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Oversee production and fulfillment of branded merchandise, print collateral, promotional materials, and campaign assets, including packing, shipping, and tracking materials for national and regional events.
