Job summary

The NYC Department of Design and Construction – Deputy Director for the Program Management Unit’s Engineering Support Services leads GIS mapping, data integration, and infrastructure records management to support Front-End Planning, design and construction.

The role oversees CCTV sewer inspection reviews, coordinates with DEP, DOT, utilities, and consultants, and provides a centralized technical resource for project information across agency initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Requires a degree in engineering, architecture, or related field with five years of relevant planning or construction experience; two years in a supervisory capacity.
  • Civil service criteria and eligibility may apply; candidates must meet administrative/managerial requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee GIS Mapping, Data Integration, and Planning Support for multiple agency initiatives.
  • Direct CCTV sewer inspection reviews and asset assessment in coordination with NYCDEP.
  • Manage infrastructure records, existing condition research, and database maintenance.
  • Coordinate with City agencies, utilities, sponsors, and stakeholders to obtain complete background information.
  • Supervise staff, assign work, monitor progress, and develop tracking tools for requests and deliverables.
