Job summary

Coconino County seeks a Deputy County Manager to provide executive leadership and collaborate with department directors in setting and achieving strategic priorities. This role supports external-facing departments, resolves complex personnel matters, and represents the County and Board with partners and officials.

The Deputy Manager leads strategic planning, ensures budget alignment with priorities, and drives cross-department collaboration in a fast-paced public-service environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in public administration or related field.
• Experience guiding strategic priorities and cross-department collaboration.
• Ability to resolve complex personnel matters in a public agency.

Responsibilities

• Provide executive leadership and coordination across departments.
• Collaborate with the Executive Leadership Team and departments to achieve Board priorities.
• Oversee budgeting and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
• Represent the County Manager and County before external partners and agencies.
• Lead special projects and respond to complex and controversial issues.
