Job summary

Coconino County is seeking a Deputy County Manager who will provide executive leadership, strategic planning, and supervisory oversight for a wide range of external facing departments and teams. The role involves collaborating with department directors to set priorities, resolve complex personnel matters, and represent the County and Board to internal and external partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in public administration or related field.
• Five years progressively responsible administrative or supervisory experience in a political/governmental environment.
• Ability to lead senior staff and collaborate with department directors on strategic priorities.

Responsibilities

• Provide consultative leadership and coordinate resources to foster collaboration across County departments and partners.
• Oversee external service delivery by leading senior staff and engaging elected officials.
• Establish short- and long-term priorities to maximize County resources and impact.
• Ensure directives, policies, and regulations from the Board and County Manager are implemented.
• Lead interdepartmental teams to improve County service integration and performance.
