Collin County is seeking a Deputy County Clerk I for the Criminal Front Counter. The role involves assisting a high volume of customers, performing clerical duties, and managing cash transactions. Strong customer service and organizational skills are essential. A high school diploma is required, and no prior experience is necessary.
The Collin County Clerk is actively seeking a candidate to fill the position of Deputy County Clerk I - Criminal Front Counter. This position will assist with a high volume of customers and attorneys at the Criminal customer service window as well as perform clerical and administrative duties, including answering busy multi-line phones and responding to general questions from the public. Duties include heavy filing, entering criminal case information into the case management database, issuing and processing cash bond releases and subpoenas, and accurately entering this information into the database. Responsibilities also include processing judgments and sentences, filing documents daily, preparing and processing payments for court fines and fees, preparing receipts at the front counter and from mail deliveries, and processing letters of representation, undeliverable notices to appear, and inmate correspondence. The position requires handling large amounts of money, accurately preparing deposits for the bank, verifying reports, and balancing at the end of each day.
Work requires knowledge of basic operational, technical, or office processes. Must have the ability to perform basic data entry and scanning functions with accuracy and attention to detail, along with strong customer service skills. Good organizational and communication skills are essential, as well as the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Minimum requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent and the ability to type at a rate of 35 words per minute. No prior experience is required.
This position requires passing a typing test at the specified minimum rate. If you have taken a typing test with us within the last 6 months that meets or exceeds this requirement, you do not need to retake it. Otherwise, you must take the test to complete your application. Tests are administered in the Human Resources Testing room from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday. Bring a government-issued photo ID to test.
