Job summary

Prince George County is seeking a Deputy County Administrator to assist in county administration, oversee designated departments, and manage the Capital Improvement Program (CIP). This role includes directing lifecycle activities for CIP projects, preparing multi-year budget requests, and coordinating with the County Administrator and department directors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, Business Administration, or related field; master’s degree preferred.
• Extensive experience in capital project administration or public-sector construction management.
• Five years of progressively responsible work experience with supervisory/managerial responsibilities, preferably at a senior level such as Director or Assistant Director.

Responsibilities

• Assist in administering the County; oversee multiple departments as assigned; manage CIP program and multi-year budget requests.
• Coordinate with the County Administrator and department directors; lead special projects; prepare reports and briefings for the Board of Supervisors.
