Job summary

County of El Paso is seeking a Deputy Constable to enforce laws, maintain order in Justice Court facilities, and ensure court security. The role involves serving civil processes, warrants, and related duties to support the Justice of the Peace and County operations.

Requires a Texas Peace Officer license (TCOLE) and the ability to obtain/maintain a Texas driver’s license with an acceptable record; prior law enforcement experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent and Basic Peace Officer Proficiency Certificate from TCOLE with 1 year of peace officer experience.
• Must have 12 college credit hours from an accredited college.
• Must be a licensed TCOLE Peace Officer and have or obtain Texas driver’s license with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Provide security and bailiff duties at Justice Court entrances and in courtroom.
• Serve civil process and execute warrants as assigned.
• Research addresses and contacts; maintain logs and prepare reports.
