Job summary

Office of the Los Angeles City Attorney in Los Angeles seeks an attorney for the Workers’ Compensation Division to defend the City in industrial injury claims before WCAB and, occasionally, in State Appellate Courts. Travel throughout Southern California for court appearances may be required. The role requires CA licensure and 2+ years in CA workers’ compensation law, plus strong research and writing; ADR experience is valued.

Qualifications

• Licensed to practice law in California courts.
• At least two years of experience in California workers' compensation law.

Responsibilities

• Appear before the Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board (WCAB).
• Handle mediation/arbitration for ADR claims as assigned.
• Assist in pre-trial discovery and appellate processes.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
