Job summary

Ancestry is seeking a Sr. Director, Deputy CISO to lead the security organization and align security operations with business goals. You will act as a trusted risk advisor to senior leadership and champion a culture of automation and resilience.

You will guide cross-functional teams across Security Engineering, Incident Response, Cloud Security, IAM, and Risk Management, driving modernization and protecting sensitive consumer data.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive leadership in information security.
• Experience leading security strategy in cloud-native environments (AWS/GCP/Azure).
• Incident command experience at enterprise scale.
• Ability to negotiate SLAs and align risk management with engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead Enterprise Security Operations & Resilience: oversee security operations, incident readiness, and threat intel; act as Incident Commander during high-stakes events.
• Enable Business & Product Innovation: work with Engineering, Product, Legal, Privacy, and IT to embed risk frameworks into applications, AI/ML pipelines, and data architectures.
• Build & Scale High-Performing Teams: lead security directors, managers, and engineers with clear succession paths.
• Modernize Defense Capabilities: drive modernization across security stack using AI/ML, automation, and cloud-native architectures.
