The University of North Carolina invites applications for the Assistant Vice Chancellor for HR Operations/Deputy CHRO at UNC Charlotte. As a key member of the HR executive leadership team, you will partner with university leaders to advance strategic priorities, ensure regulatory compliance, and lead a high-performing HR organization

Qualifications

• Minimum of eight to ten years of HR leadership experience.
• Minimum of five years supervising professional staff.
• Strong expertise in compensation, talent acquisition, benefits, policy development, and workforce planning.
• Bachelor’s degree in HR, Public Administration, Business Administration, Organizational Leadership, Higher Education Administration, or a closely related field.
• Experience interpreting and applying employment laws.
• Excellent analytical, communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
• Ability to collaborate with executive leadership and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the Deputy Chief Human Resources Officer and strategic partner to the CHRO.
• Oversee talent acquisition, compensation, benefits, position management, and HR policy administration.
• Develop workforce strategies to support recruitment, retention, employee engagement, and organizational effectiveness.
• Ensure compliance with employment laws, regulations, and university policies.
• Lead HR staff and promote operational excellence and customer service.
• Utilize workforce data and industry best practices to inform strategic HR initiatives.
