Job summary

Nassau County Board of County Commissioners in Yulee, FL is seeking a Fire Prevention Supervisor to lead code development, inspections and enforcement for the Fire/Rescue Department.

The role focuses on planning, organizing and directing the fire prevention division, training personnel, and coordinating with emergency and non‑emergency activities while ensuring compliance with laws and standards.

Qualifications

• Requires Florida Fire Instructor I/II and live-fire instructor certs.
• Strong leadership, mentoring and supervisory experience.
• Experience building fire prevention programs and training curricula.
• Familiarity with EMS protocols, grant research and budget basics.

Responsibilities

• Develops and enforces fire and life safety codes and inspections.
• Supervises and trains staff; ensures regulatory compliance and safety standards.
• Coordinates training schedules, maintains records and reports.
• Represents the department at meetings and coordinates with external agencies.
