Job summary

Collins Aerospace, an RTX company, seeks a deputy chief engineer to guide a team upgrading a legacy device and drive crypto certification. You will coordinate with engineering leads, the PMO and the customer, while managing cost/accounting and scrum processes for defect resolution.

The role requires experience leading large programs, strong communications to executives, and a SECRET clearance. A STEM degree with extensive relevant experience is expected.

Qualifications

• Experience with the systems development process from requirements to production.
• Experience leading $50-100M programs as chief engineer for at least 2 years.
• Active and transferable SECRET clearance required before start.
• U.S. citizenship required for security clearance eligibility.
• STEM degree with 8+ years of relevant experience or an advanced degree with 5+ years.

Responsibilities

• Lead as deputy chief engineer for upgrades on a legacy device.
• Collaborate with lead engineer, PMO and customer to achieve crypto certification.
• Act as CAM and coordinate with Finance/Scheduler for internal planning.
• Serve as product owner/scrum master and run CCBs for defects.
• Perform system-level planning, integration, validation, and risk analysis.
• Contribute to bid and proposal efforts.
• Decompose system requirements and manage testing across software/hardware crypto systems.
