Job summary

The City of Avondale, AZ is seeking a Deputy Building Official to lead the Building Services Division, oversee plan review, inspections, and permit administration, and act for the Chief Building Official in their absence. This exempt, full-time position focuses on building codes, development processes, and customer service within the Development Services Department.

The incumbent will supervise staff, manage multiple projects, coordinate with other departments, and advance organizational goals

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred in a related field.
• Experience supervising staff and managing projects.
• Municipal government experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Directs plan review, inspections, and permit administration.
• Supervises Building Services Division staff and budget.
• Represents the City on committees and public meetings.
