Job summary

The City of Avondale, AZ, is seeking a Public Works Administration Manager to lead the administrative team within the Public Works Department. You will supervise staff, manage budgets, oversee procurement, and coordinate customer service operations with city-wide impact.

You will also oversee financial matters, report on budgets, and support policy guidance as an executive team member. A driver’s license is required upon hire and ERP experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; five or more years in government administration preferred.
• Experience supporting administration goals, customer service, budgets, and procurement in a government setting.
• Experience with enterprise resource planning systems (Munis/Oracle/SAP) is required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the administrative and customer service staff; manage schedules, tasks, performance, and corrective action.
• Oversee procurement processes from start to finish and ensure compliance with procurement code.
• Manage payables, invoices, and purchasing card transactions; ensure data entry and controls.
• Prepare budget documents and provide budget projections and monitoring to Department leadership.
• Coordinate communications for print, social media, and website; publish information as needed.
