Qualifications

• Requires knowledge of the Florida Building Code and related regulations.
• Experience supervising building code administration staff and contractors.
• Ability to prepare and analyze budgetary tools for the division.
• Ability to communicate code applications to diverse audiences in writing and verbally.
• Must be able to interpret and apply State Statutes, codes, and local ordinances.

Responsibilities

• Supervises Building Code Administration and activity staff.
• Acts as Chief Building Official in their absence.
• Leads department operations related to damage assessment.
• Develops systems, procedures, forms, and instructions to facilitate operations.
• Advises Chief Building Official on project status and priorities.
• Analyzes programs to assess value and budget needs.
• Prepares meeting agendas and coordinates meetings.
• Keeps informed on latest developments through consultants.
• Responds to emergencies and performs other duties as assigned.
