Job summary

Mahoney Environmental in Beltsville, MD is seeking an Operations Manager to oversee routing, driver supervision, and fleet operations at our Beltsville depot. This non-remote role reports to the General Manager and requires hands-on leadership in a stable, long-standing company.

The successful candidate will manage budgets, coordinate maintenance, and train drivers, while ensuring safe, efficient service and strong communication with drivers and staff. Starting salary is $74,000–$77,000 DOE.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 3-5 years equivalent experience.
• Valid US Driver's license with clean driving record.
• CDL license with 3 years of experience preferred.
• Computer experience with logistics/routing programs or Oracle.
• Supervisory experience preferred.
• Mechanical aptitude and related professional experience preferred.
• Excellent delegation and multitasking skills.
• Strong communication, organizational and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Create and manage effective routes.
• Communicate effectively with drivers, fleet personnel and operations staff.
• Supervise and delegate tasks to drivers.
• Assist with budgets.
• Train and certify new drivers.
• Handle after hour calls.
• Manage vehicle and equipment maintenance/repairs.
• Manage inventory levels.
• Assist General Manager.
• Other duties as assigned.
