Job summary

Universal Logistics Holdings is seeking an experienced Depot Manager for the Dearborn, MI depot to lead daily operations and optimize asset utilization.

You will oversee yard management, equipment maintenance, scheduling, and safety compliance while delivering exceptional service to customers and collaborating with carriers and internal teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
• 5+ years of operations or logistics management experience in transportation, intermodal, depot, terminal, or warehouse settings.
• Proven leadership experience managing teams in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong knowledge of safety regulations, inventory management, and performance metrics.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and operational systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage all depot operations, including yard management, equipment inventory, maintenance, and customer service.
• Lead, coach, and develop depot employees with a focus on safety and continuous improvement.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, OSHA regulations, environmental standards, and procedures.
• Monitor and improve KPIs related to productivity, service, costs, and safety.
• Oversee equipment inspections, repairs, and maintenance programs to maximize asset availability.
• Manage labor scheduling, operational budgets, and cost-control initiatives.
• Collaborate with customers, carriers, vendors, and internal stakeholders to resolve issues promptly.
• Maintain accurate records, reporting, and inventory controls.
