Job summary

Fifth Third Bank is seeking a Deposit Ops Recon & Processing Specialist in Cincinnati, OH. You will perform critical support functions for check adjustments, returns, and related processes, researching and resolving items across internal accounts and multiple systems.

The role requires data entry capability, strong communication, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced banking environment, with daily reconciliation of ledgers and processing of payment items.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two years of bank operations or relevant work experience.
• One year of work experience in accounting or bookkeeping.
• Data entry skills preferred.
• Familiarity of basic PC functions, specifically Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Customer focus.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task.
• Ability to maintain/organize accurate case files.

Responsibilities

• Post financial entries to clear deposit system rejects daily.
• Research and resolve outstanding items on the UDS suspense account.
• Balance several General Ledger accounts on a daily basis for accurate processing of work.
• Research and resolve exception items suspended by the processing team, including pay/return decisions and identifying correct accounts.
• Use multiple systems to identify resolutions for suspended RDIs.
• Execute monetary adjustments to internal accounts and outside financial institutions.
• Prepare and distribute the Holds Report throughout the network.
• Collect responses and apply pay/return decisions to ensure timely return of checks/ACH items with holds.
• Research and clear items outstanding on the Exceptions reject account.
• Execute and monitor daily production jobs for returns and exceptions processing.
