Job summary

Base Power Company is seeking a Deployment Engineer (Product Launch) to take new hardware from prototype through pilot into full-scale deployment. You’ll track field issues, feed back to engineering, and decide when fixes ship, acting as the link between engineers, field crews, and deployment operations.

You’ll gain deep expertise in how our hardware is designed, built, tested, and deployed at scale, influencing what ships next and supporting fast, safe field installations.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in a hardware-adjacent technical role.
• Comfort reading electrical and mechanical systems (batteries, inverters, wiring diagrams).
• Experience tracking a product from prototype through production.
• Strong documentation habits: defect logs and playbooks.
• Ability to write up hardware and software issues engineers trust.
• A 4-year degree, or equivalent hands-on hardware or field experience.
• Familiarity with Grafana, Jira, or Retool.
• Comfortable with ambiguity; pilots move fast.
• Team player who communicates clearly under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Track new hardware products through pilot and rollout and flag blockers.
• Log defects and spot trends across installs; push issues to engineering.
• Partner with hardware, firmware, and software teams to validate fixes.
• Own the prototype build and defect tracking process with linked records.
• Support field crews during installs and service calls for new hardware.
• Write and maintain rollout playbooks and hardware defect logs.
• Report hardware readiness and known issues to engineering and leadership.
