The Department Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily production activities within a specific department, ensuring that manufacturing processes run smoothly, efficiently, and safely. This role involves coordinating workers, maintaining production schedules, enforcing quality standards, and ensuring compliance with workplace safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

Production Management

  • Supervise and coordinate daily production activities to meet production goals.
  • Ensure production schedules are followed, and deadlines are met.
  • Monitor workflow and adjust staffing or resources as needed to optimize efficiency.

  • Lead, train, and motivate production staff to achieve department goals.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Address employee concerns and maintain a positive working environment.

Quality Control & Compliance

  • Enforce quality control standards to ensure products meet company and customer specifications.
  • Conduct regular inspections and implement corrective actions to address quality issues.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and industry standards.

Process Optimization & Efficiency

  • Identify areas for process improvement and implement best practices.
  • Monitor equipment performance and coordinate maintenance or repairs as needed.
  • Reduce waste and improve cost-effectiveness through lean manufacturing techniques.

Safety & Workplace Compliance

  • Promote and enforce workplace safety procedures and regulations.
  • Conduct safety meetings and training sessions to minimize workplace incidents.
  • Investigate incidents and take corrective measures to prevent future occurrences.

Reporting & Documentation

  • Maintain accurate production records, reports, and documentation.
  • Analyze production data to track performance and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Report any issues affecting production to management in a timely manner.
Other Duties as Assigned:
  • Support special projects, process audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in company-wide initiatives related to sustainability, compliance, and operational excellence.
  • Perform additional tasks as required to support the company objectives.
Qualifications & Skills:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, or a related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in a supervisory role within a manufacturing environment, with a strong understanding of technical processes and equipment.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
  • Knowledge of production processes, equipment, and safety regulations.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Proficient in using manufacturing software and technical tools relevant to the production process.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
  • Manufacturing or industrial setting, requiring standing for long periods.
  • Exposure to machinery, noise, and production-related hazards (protective equipment required).
  • May require occasional overtime or shift flexibility to meet production demands.
