About the Role

As a Department Supervisor, you will be responsible for supporting the Sales and Profit goals in the store by executing a plan to deliver the Best Customer Experience in the department and overall store. The Department Supervisor will work in accordance with legal requirements and H&M standards, policies, and procedures to meet the expectations of customers and colleagues.

A Day in the Life

Working at H&M means no two days are ever the same, but a typical day will include the following responsibilities:

  • You are responsible for supporting the total OMNI customer experience in your store, ensuring visual and commercial curation according to global guidelines.
  • Representing yourself and the H&M brand positively during customer interactions.
  • Be aware of and take responsibility for your department's strengths and identifying commercial opportunities, working with your Department Manager to act on them.
  • Ensure customer service is provided in all areas of the store and that your team actively promotes and sells products to customers.
  • Follow up to ensure your team promotes our Customer Loyalty App (Hello Member) & in-store sustainability initiatives.
  • Ensure correct routines in fitting room and checkout, including transactions, returns, and exchanges.
  • Ensure all admin routines for both people and operations are handled correctly.

Fashion & Trend Awareness

  • Keep up-to-date with fashion scene, trends, tendencies, styles, brands, products, competitors, and relevant influencers.
  • Ensure your team provides product and fashion knowledge during customer interactions.

Team & Development

  • Retain and share your knowledge and skills with the store team.
  • Collaborate, plan, and work with the in-store Visual Merchandiser team.
  • Give & receive feedback with colleagues to learn, develop & support each other.
  • Maintain regular communication to inform, motivate, and inspire store colleagues—daily, weekly meetings, etc.
  • Ensure all procedures, routines, and legal requirements are followed in all store areas.

Retail Operations/Visual & Commercial Execution

  • Keep the sales floor and back of house areas clean and tidy, including stockrooms.
  • Ensure high-quality visual and commercial product presentation with good garment care.
  • Maintain stock levels and provide input on allocation to the Area team.
  • Manage the full garment cycle from delivery to presentation, following standards and routines.
  • Follow best practices for in-store OMNI services and tech tools (Instore Care App, Click & Collect, Smart Store, etc.).
  • Maintain consistent and accurate price signage throughout the store according to guidelines.
  • Update and maintain BOH areas with key information, health & safety, and tidiness.
  • Responsible for opening and closing the store daily.

Additional Information

Compensation: expected base salary range is $20.65-$24.37 hourly
