Job summary

Baltimore County Government's Department of Aging seeks an Office Automation Analyst to provide agency management and technical support for the MySeniorCenter software. Under general supervision, you will become SME on the software and support senior centers and nutrition sites.

Responsibilities include tier 1 support, hardware/software troubleshooting with staff and vendors, training staff, creating reports, and maintaining standard operating procedures.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; three years of computer system experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field preferred.
  • Experience managing computer applications is highly desired.

Responsibilities

  • Become a subject matter expert on MySeniorCenter software and operations.
  • Serve as a tier 1 technical support for MySeniorCenter software.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues with staff, OIT, and vendors.
  • Communicate with vendors and OIT regarding bugs, reports, patches.
  • Update and troubleshoot kiosk issues within senior centers.
  • Develop and conduct training for staff on MySeniorCenter software.
  • Assist with data transfer between applications.
  • Generate reports for staff, state, and county.
  • Represent the Computer Operations department at meetings.
  • Maintain SOP documentation for applications.
  • Resolve missing data within applications using reporting and outreach.

A Non-Merit vacancy for a Office Automation Analyst exists in the Department of Aging.

Non-Merit positions are not classified within the Baltimore County Government Classification and Compensation Plan.

Regular Schedule: 34 hours per week. Plus County benefits.

Job Purpose

Under general supervision, provides agency management and technical support to the Department of Aging Computer Operations Department.

Essential Job Duties
  • Become a subject matter expert on MySeniorCenter software and become familiar with the operations of Senior Centers and Nutrition Sites.
  • Serve as a tier 1 technical support for the Department of Aging’s MySeniorCenter Software, requiring foundational knowledge of application troubleshooting and relevant certifications.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues with staff, OIT, and vendors.
  • Communicate with vendors and the Office of Information Technology regarding bugs/issues, custom reports, and patches/updates.
  • Update and troubleshoot kiosk issues within senior centers.
  • Investigate and resolve issues with Nutrition Site Scanners.
  • Develop and conduct one‑on‑one and group training for staff for the MySeniorCenter Software.
  • Assist with Data transfer between the Department of Aging’s applications.
  • Generate custom and standard reports for staff, state, and county.
  • Represent the Computer Operations department at meetings.
  • Maintain accurate, up‑to‑date standard operations procedure documentation for the Department of Aging’s applications.
  • Responsible for resolving missing data within the Department of Aging’s applications utilizing reporting and outreach.

RequiredTraining and Experience

Possession of a high school diploma or an appropriate high school equivalency; Three years of computer system experience.

(Additional education may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.)

Preferred Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science or related field.

Experience in managing computer applications is highly desired.

(Years of experience will be considered as a valid substitution for the preferred education.)

  • Experience with MySeniorCenter is an asset, but not required

Licenses and Certificates

Some positions within this classification may require possession of a valid driver’s license equivalent to a Non‑Commercial, Class C Maryland Driver's License at the time of appointment.
