Role Overview
As a Department Manager at Buffalo Wild Wings, you will oversee restaurant operations, lead and develop staff, ensure guest satisfaction, and maintain profitability.
Key Responsibilities
- Department Management: Manage the Heart of House, Bar, or Hospitality Department according to the specific position. Oversee day‑to‑day operations on a shift‑by‑shift basis.
- Staffing & Development: Recruit, interview, hire, orient, train, and develop department team members. Develop action plans and provide coaching to maintain service standards.
- Scheduling & Labor Management: Create weekly department schedules within labor guidelines, balance team needs with business requirements, and administer merit increases and incentive programs.
- Guest Experience: Manage the guest comment program, address food quality complaints, and utilize the Guest Experience Management (GEM) program to improve satisfaction.
- Quality & Operations: Ensure adherence to food and bar product rollouts, maintain recipe accuracy and portioning, manage inventory levels, and conduct quality audits.
- Financial Management: Monitor food and bar costs, P&L statements, labor results, and implement corrective action plans to meet cost variances and sales targets.
- Health & Safety: Operate in accordance with Board of Health and food safety standards, monitor equipment, and report repair needs.
- Compliance & Training: Maintain required training, certifications, and permits; oversee WCT training and responsibility for bar/bottling compliance.

Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of restaurant or hospitality management experience; experience managing a full‑bar restaurant preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between units.
- Completion of Buffalo Wild Wings Management Certification program.
- High school diploma or equivalent; satisfactory background check.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
- Experience in a fast‑paced, sports‑themed restaurant environment.
