About the Role

As a Department Manager, you’ll lead and support your team, fostering an inclusive culture that promotes collaboration and entrepreneurial spirit. Your role involves ensuring excellent operational and visual experiences in your store, analyzing sales and market data, and creating plans to optimize results and profits.

A Day in the Life

Working at H&M means dynamic days with responsibilities such as:

  1. Customer Sales & Profit
  2. Managing the OMNI customer experience, visual and commercial presentation
  3. Representing the H&M brand positively during customer interactions
  4. Identifying and acting on commercial opportunities
  5. Setting and analyzing sales and budget goals
  6. Providing excellent customer service and promoting our loyalty app and sustainability initiatives
  7. Managing departmental costs and routines, including fitting rooms and checkout procedures

Fashion & Trend Awareness

  • Stay updated on fashion trends, styles, brands, and competitors
  • Ensure your team shares product and fashion knowledge with customers

Team & Development

  • Recruit, onboard, and develop your team
  • Conduct performance evaluations and succession planning
  • Share knowledge and skills, plan team schedules, and communicate regularly
  • Ensure procedures, routines, and legal requirements are followed

Retail Operations/Visual & Commercial Execution

  • Maintain a clean, tidy, and well-presented store environment
  • Ensure stock levels, product presentation, and store routines meet standards
  • Manage store opening and closing procedures
