OVERVIEW:


The Environmental Manager will be responsible for implementing, managing, and monitoring all environmental programs for the site while working with internal and external stakeholders. To be effective, this individual must demonstrate the ability to lead and influence staff not under direct supervision. The ideal candidate will take the initiative to solve complex challenges and have a strong ability to think laterally in delivering project solutions.



DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Manage the ongoing compliance requirements for the facility. Secures and maintains appropriate permits for air (Title V, local), water (NPDES, wastewater, water withdrawal and dredging), bulk oil and chemical storage and ensures appropriate waste management.

  • Prepares and submits the required compliance reporting, including but not limited to: NDPES, DMR, Title V, annual permit reporting, GHG verification, etc.

  • Prepares and maintains the required plans SWPPP, SPCC, FRP and the conducts or oversees the relevant inspections.

  • Provides technical review and risk assessment for proposed new projects and significant operational changes.

  • Manages permitting for new projects and modifications.

  • Develops and sustains relationships with Federal, Local, and State agencies, community associations, legal teams, and consultants.

  • Point of contact for regulatory audits, visits or inspections.

  • As a part of the facility leadership team, provides guidance on environmental regulations and works to build a genuine culture of Environmental awareness and responsibility.

  • Responds to on-site emergencies and incidents and acts as incident command in conjunction with Health and Safety and Security functions.

  • Plans and forecasts the annual Environmental Budget and manages expenditure.

  • Prepares and submits incident and near-miss reports, participates in, or leads investigations to identify root cause and determine solutions.

  • Walks the site on a regular basis to establish environmental presence and provide support.

  • Prepare routine correspondence, data reports,standardized documents, and work plans for internal and external reviews.

  • Manage projects, complete fieldwork and write summary reports as needed.

  • Stays current on regulatory changes and local developments to respond to and protect company interests.

  • Lead employee engagement efforts including oversight of environmental committees and internal environmental audits/inspections and lead environmental training for the site.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.



POSITION REQUIREMENTS:



  • Knowledgeable of federal, local, and state regulations for environmental compliance

  • Minimum 4-5 years of experience in air, water, and waste reporting, permitting, and approvals in a manufacturing environment.

  • Candidate must have excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills.



EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:



  • Minimum of a B.S. Degree in Environmental or ChemicalEngineering. Environmental Science or a closely related field is required.

SALARY PAY RANGE:$96,000 - $178,000 plus bonus



  • The pay rate for the successful candidate will depend on the candidate's qualifications and prior experience.

  • Benefits include healthcare (medical, dental, vision, prescription drugs) available the first of the month following 30 days of employment, 401(k) with match, life insurance, AD&D, short-term disability, vacation, holiday and sick time.
