Lonza in Tampa, FL is seeking a Department Lead for Packaging to oversee night shift packaging operations and ensure compliant batch records and documentation. You will coordinate with Manufacturing, QA, Warehouse, and Facilities to ensure FDA alignment and high-quality outputs.

The role requires 4+ years in a GMP environment, strong cGMP knowledge, and the ability to lead staff, troubleshoot equipment, and support continuous improvement initiatives. A High School Diploma or GED is required.

• Assign and direct staff to production rooms to ensure smooth operations.
• Assist with troubleshooting equipment and set up automated packaging machinery.
• Reconcile and move materials between packaging areas and the warehouse.
• Train Operators and drive continuous improvement initiatives aligned with SQDC goals.

What you will do

• Lead Packaging operations, ensuring batch record execution and documentation meets cGMP standards.
• Support Manufacturing, QA, Warehouse, and Facilities teams to ensure alignment with FDA and company requirements.
• Oversee and coordinate cleaning and sanitization of primary and secondary packaging rooms and equipment.
• Assign and direct staff to production rooms to ensure smooth operations and address packaging‑related blocking issues.
• Assist with troubleshooting equipment and help set up automated machinery for packaging processes.
• Reconcile and move materials between packaging areas and the warehouse.
• Train Operators and support continuous improvement initiatives aligned with SQDC goals.

What we are looking for

• 4+ years of relevant experience within a manufacturing, packaging, or GMP‑regulated environment.
• Strong understanding of cGMP requirements and documentation practices.
• Ability to lead others, troubleshoot equipment, and support cross‑functional operations.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Detail‑oriented, organized, and able to work effectively on a 12hr night shift schedule.
• Experience with automated packaging equipment is a plus.
