Overview

Department Coordinator - Durable Medical Equipment - Naperville

Hours: Full-time/40 Hours Week

Monday-Thursday, 10:00-7:00pm

Friday, 8:00-4:30pm

Location: Naperville, IL

Primary support functions include: Working resupply requests for CPAP supplies, scheduling patient appointments, working front desk from 4:30-7:00pm, Monday- Thursday to check in patients, collect payment, etc.


Responsibilities

  • Interacts with patients, patients’ families, physicians and other third party carriers with regard to patient-related issues.
  • Maintains a highly visible profile in the work areas. Works as a team member as necessary.
  • Promotes positive customer service skills with both internal and external customers.
  • Ensures office supply inventory is current, mail is opened and processed, office is open and properly directed.
  • Works with Manager to ensure efforts are coordinated and high quality patient care is provided.
  • Prepares reports and maintains databases.
  • Works towards developing efficiencies; provides constructive feedback/solutions to processes and works towards improvements.
  • Provides and coordinates necessary training and education for staff.
  • Performs all other duties/responsibilities as assigned by Manager.

Qualifications

  • Associates Degree or equivalent work experience is required
  • Two years of health care experience in a hospital or outpatient office setting, either clerical or clinical work related
  • Must have a thorough knowledge of medical terminology
  • DME experience preferred
  • Must be flexible in hours and shifts, including nights and weekends
  • Intermediate computer proficiency and keyboarding experience is required in this role.
  • Ability to consider individual communication preferences/needs and the ability to maintain a tactful and diplomatic demeanor in all communications
  • Ability to quickly prioritize tasks and to continually make decisions based on client processes and expectations.

The compensation for this role includes a base pay range of $19.07-$28.61, with the actual pay determined by factors such as skills, experience, education, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity. Additional compensation may be available through shift differentials, bonuses, and other incentives. Base pay is only a portion of the total rewards package.
